Volunteer Spotlight

Each quarter, Bethlehem House will shine the spotlight on one of Bethlehem House’s Belles (volunteers) or a board member who has made an outstanding impact on the quality of life at the house.

Judy Mansisidor, Bethlehem House Belle

Judy 1-smJudy is an active volunteer, mentor, and positive role model for the guests at Bethlehem House. She is always willing to pitch in when needed and brings to the house activities that create opportunities for family togetherness.

Judy’s presence brings a motherly love to our environment. She truly helps make Bethlehem House a home.

“While preparing my Fourth Grade Sunday School class for Advent last year, God put it on my heart to make blankets for the women and babies at Bethlehem House.  I wanted to teach my class that we should always welcome babies with the joy that we would have welcomed Baby Jesus with had we been alive long ago when He was born.  That began my service at Bethlehem House!

When I first came here to visit and to drop off the blankets made by the children, I was stilled as I met a mother and her newborn baby girl in the hallway. I realized that the women here, not just their babies, are in great needJudy 2-sm of being loved, supported and welcomed by the people of this community too.

While Bethlehem House is luxurious when compared to a stable, the feelings of desperation, abandonment, and lack of love and support are still here, waiting to be dispelled and overcome by the light and love of Christ in us.”
